Welcome back to Happy Kidz

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to HAPPY KIDZ after the Festive Season. I hope that you and your family enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful and blessed Christmas together. It is lovely to see all the children who were with us last year and to welcome our new families and their little ones.

I would like to welcome MEGHAN BOYES to our Happy Kidz Family. Meghan is my daughter, with whom I have worked for many years. She is going to be responsible for monitoring the day-today running of the school, in close association with me and my teachers.
Your child will receive a Happy Kidz communication book which is used by our staff to let you know what has happened with your little one, daily. You are more than welcome to use this book to communicate with our teachers as well.

Programmes

Each three months you will receive a programme of themes to be covered. We will have a “show and tell” every Monday, for which I would like you to send something from home that relates to the given theme. Your little one will be learning new vocabulary associated with the theme each day of the week. Please chat with your little one about the topic at home to encourage your child to use new vocabulary which is age appropriate.

Menus

Every week a menu will be emailed to you for your perusal. If your child does not eat an item please do not hesitate to contact me, Meghan or one of my teachers so that we can meet your child’s special dietary requirements.

Additional Activities

It is lovely to welcome Ashleigh from Wiggle&Jam back each Friday this year. This is a programme that offers music and movement while developing vocabulary as well. We are also offering Swimming with Caroline, more details to follow.
Eagles Tumbling Club has offered to run a programme at our school which works of gross and fine motor development as well as hand-eye-coordination, balance, midline crossing etc.

I am also eager to start Little Kickers soccer programme at Happy Kidz which again is good for gross motor development and coordination. These extramural activities, while taking place during the school day, are optional. The people responsible for these activities will bill you separately.

Should you have queries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me or Meghan to discuss them. I have an Open Door Policy so I will meet parents whenever it is mutually suitable. I encourage you to become very much a part of your child’s Nursery School Life.

please join us for an Open Day on the 29th of September 2018. We would like to show you around and infrom you about our Classrooms. Our Wise Owls Classroom for example is the perfect class for kids from 5 to 6 years. For the younger children we offer baby classes from 6 months onwards.

You can meet our wonderful staff, teachers and have a indepth view of how our school operates.

Happy Kidz (formerly known as Helping Hands Happy Kidz) is under new ownership by Cathy Boyes and will open its doors on the 3rd of September 2018.

Cathy has loads of experience when it comes to kids: She was at Kathstan College, catering for children from the age of 3 to Matric, for the last 24 years. Cathy was also the owner of the school for 14 years. On selling the school to Advtech, she decided to open a High School named Olympus Equestrian Academy, which is successfully up and running on the Dunblane Lifestyle Estate. Cathy’s intention now is to create the best Nursery School in Kempton Park for you and your children, in a safe, nurturing environment, where every child is an individual and part of the Happy Kidz family.

At Happy Kidz we understand that your child’s education and care is a priority and that choosing the correct school is a big decision. Our early childhood educational programmes include a sound curriculum together with knowledgeable child care professionals who meet the needs of children at every age and stage of their development.

We adopt different programmes for each section of the school, in accordance with the age and stage of the child. Our toddler and baby class provides many opportunities to learn and explore. Our classrooms are organised into learning centres to engage children in learning through play while gaining independence.

The preschool classroom provides a structured and nurturing environment that provides children with structured group activities, individualised learning opportunities, play and numerous activities to encourage your child’s creativity. Preschool children engage in group circle time, purposeful play, meal times and an opportunity for rest time, if needed.
